3 ways we got our “bathtub only” boys to take a shower - with no drama.

Cue mild panic attack when I realized our hotel room only had a shower and no bathtub ⚠️

We’ve tried to transition the boys to showers a couple years ago and it did NOT go well, so we reverted back to only taking baths.

Unfortunately when we checked in, the only room that was ready just had a shower. So, we decided to try again. Here are the three tips that worked for us:

🧼 Having a parent shower with them to help wash their hair and body, rinse off the soap, and control the water flow/temperature.

🚿 Before putting them in the shower, we also experimented with adjusting the shower head to put it on the gentlest water flow.

🥽 Since this hotel has a pool, we already had my son’s goggles with us. He wanted to wear them in the shower so the water didn’t get directly into his eyes.

Bonus: I’ve also seen some people put a towel down on the shower floor to reduce the slickness and prevent any injuries. The floor of this shower is textured so it isn’t slippery when wet.
