Things my 4 year old said to me this week that may surprise you.

This week, my 4-year-old surprised me with some powerful words that made me stop and think.

Parenting is a journey filled with unexpected lessons, and sometimes those lessons come from the little ones we’re raising. Here are a few things my child said that made me stop and reflect:

“You hurt my feelings.”
“You’re not being patient.”
“You need to say sorry to me.”
“I forgive you.”

These simple yet profound statements remind us that children see and feel more than we often give them credit for. Their honesty can teach us so much about empathy, patience, and forgiveness. It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of being present and mindful in our parenting journey.

Here are a few takeaways from my week:

🫶🏼Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Children can articulate their emotions and expect us to acknowledge them. It’s a powerful reminder to always consider their feelings.

🤝Modeling Patience: Our children notice our behavior. Striving to be more patient sets a positive example for them.

🙏🏼The Power of Apologies and Forgiveness: Kids teach us the importance of owning up to our mistakes and moving forward with love.
